How Skiplog works, step by step.

How it works

From sign-up to the first result

  1. Add your site and your registrations

Set up the site once with its details and your carrier, broker and dealer registration numbers and expiry dates. That is the configuration, and it is the only setup step.

  2. Write notes in the yard

Open the form on a phone or tablet at the weighbridge. Waste type, EWC code, quantity, carrier, destination. It saves to the device first, whether or not there is signal.

  3. Let it sync itself

When the tablet is back in range the queued notes go up on their own. Each one shows queued, syncing or synced, so you can see what has landed.

  4. Check the quarter as it builds

The dashboard shows notes logged and tonnage by waste type, so the quarter is never a surprise on the last day.

  5. Export the return

At quarter end, one click gives you a CSV in the EA column layout you configured, ready to submit without reformatting.

Skiplog is not open yet, so this is what it is being built to do. Nothing a card names is a promise: the pages this site publishes are what it covers today.

A transfer note in under two minutes

Waste type, EWC code, quantity, carrier details and destination site, laid out as the EA asks for them. Built to be completed on a phone or tablet at the weighbridge, not typed up later from a damp carbon copy.

Saves first, syncs later

Notes save to the device the moment you press save, then sync on their own when signal returns. Every note carries a visible queued, syncing or synced chip, so nobody has to guess whether the load was recorded.

Questions

Answers before you ask

Any price, trial or plan named in these answers is planned rather than on sale.

Does Skiplog make my site compliant?

No software can promise that. Skiplog is made to help you meet the mandate's record-keeping requirements by capturing the EA-mandated fields and producing your quarterly return in an EA column layout. Compliance still depends on your own data being accurate and on the rules as the EA and DEFRA publish them.

Does it work with no signal?

Yes, that is the starting point. A note saves to the device first and syncs when connectivity returns, and every note carries a queued, syncing or synced chip so you can see exactly what has reached the server.

What does it cost?

£99 a month billed annually, or £129 a month on a rolling monthly plan, with a 60-day free trial. One site per subscription. Billing runs through Stripe.

Does it handle more than one site?

Not at launch. The first version is built for a single site, because that is what a 1 to 20 staff skip yard or transfer station needs. Multi-site management is not in scope for the initial release.

Does it submit my return to the EA for me?

No. Skiplog generates the quarterly return as a CSV in a configurable EA-specified column layout so it is ready to submit without manual reformatting. You submit it. There is no direct integration with the DEFRA digital waste tracking service in the first version.

What hardware do I need?

It runs in a browser on a phone or tablet, designed around low-cost Android tablets rather than the newest hardware. There is no app store download in the first version.
